Indochina Heritage Trail: Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand
The cultural heart of Southeast Asia: a night on Ha Long Bay, Hoi An's old town, sunrise at Angkor Wat and Bangkok's Grand Palace.
View trip & itinerary
We run two very different trips in Southeast Asia. The Indochina Heritage Trail is a cultural tour of three countries in fourteen days: a night on a junk in Ha Long Bay, the old trading town of Hoi An, two days among the temples of Angkor, and Bangkok's Grand Palace. It is easy going, close to sea level throughout, and runs in the dry season from November to April.
The Bali, Mount Bromo and Komodo expedition is ten days of something more active across Indonesia: sunrise over the Bromo caldera, a 1am walk to see Ijen's blue fire, two nights in Ubud, then two nights on a wooden boat among the Komodo islands. It runs in Indonesia's dry season, April to October. Both trips fly the long distances so the days are spent on the ground.

It depends where. Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand are best in the dry season from November to April, most comfortable December to February. Java, Bali and Komodo are best in Indonesia's dry season, April to October.
For the Indochina trip, able to walk two to three hours in heat. The Indonesia trip is moderate: two pre-dawn volcano walks, a steep sunrise hike on Padar, and open-water snorkelling, so you need to be a confident swimmer.
Probably, and it depends on your passport. Visas are not included in either trip. We send a checklist when you book; each country's official immigration site is the final word.
Yes. Either route can run as a private trip on your own dates, with extra days where you want them — more time at Angkor or in Bali are the usual requests.
