This page explains what Elham Asia does with personal information collected through elhamasia.com. It is written to describe what the website actually does, not to cover every possibility.
Who we are
Elham Asia is a tour operator registered with the Department of Tourist Services, Government of Pakistan, at Office No. 227, Rohtas Road, G-9/1, Islamabad, Pakistan. For anything on this page, write to info@elhamasia.com.
What we collect
Only what you type into an enquiry form, which is the sole place this website asks you for anything:
- Your name, email address and phone or WhatsApp number.
- Your country, the destination you are asking about, the month or start date you have in mind, and how many adults and children are travelling.
- Anything you write in the message box — including, if you choose to tell us, fitness, altitude history or dietary needs.
- Which page you sent the enquiry from, and the trip it was about.
We also store a one-way cryptographic hash derived from your IP address. It cannot be turned back into an IP address; it exists so that a single sender cannot flood the form, and nothing else. The IP address itself is not written to the database.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and trips people actually read. It records the page you are on, roughly where in the world you are, and whether you arrived from a search, a link or an advert. It does not record your name, your email address or anything you type into an enquiry form, and we never send it your enquiry.
Google sets a cookie in your browser to tell one visit from another. You can refuse it with any browser setting or extension that blocks third-party analytics, and the site works exactly the same without it.
What we do not collect
No advertising pixels, no Meta pixel, no session recording, no heatmaps and no third-party tracking beyond the analytics described above. We do not buy or sell mailing lists, and enquiring does not sign you up to a newsletter.
Why we hold it, and for how long
To answer your enquiry, quote your trip, and — if you travel with us — run it. An enquiry that does not become a booking is kept while it might still turn into one and is deleted once it plainly will not. Booking records are kept for as long as tax and tourism regulation in Pakistan require them.
Who else sees it
Our own staff, and the people needed to run the trip you have booked — hotels, airlines, and the authorities who issue trekking and climbing permits, which by law name every member of an expedition. Our website and database are hosted by third-party providers who store the data on our behalf and do not use it for anything of their own. Enquiry notifications are sent over our own mail server. We do not share your details with anyone else.
Cookies
Four things are kept in your browser. Google Analytics sets a cookie to tell one visit from another, as described above. If you switch the site to dark mode, or start filling in the customize-your-tour form and leave before sending it, both are stored in your own browser and never sent to us — the half-finished form is there so you do not lose it if you come back. The last is a cookie that signs staff in to the admin area, and it is never set for visitors.
Your choices
Write to info@elhamasia.com and ask for a copy of what we hold about you, a correction, or deletion, and we will do it. Deleting the record of a trip you are currently booked on may mean we cannot run it, and we will tell you if that is the case before acting.
Changes
If what we do with data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. The booking terms are set out separately in our terms and conditions and on the holiday information page.
