How to choose a Pakistan tour package
Three things decide which package suits you: the month you can travel, how many days you have, and whether you would rather fly the mountain legs or drive them. Every trip below is guided, with hotels, breakfast and transport in one price agreed before you travel.
By season
- Spring blossom, the first three weeks of April. Apricot and cherry blossom moving up the Hunza valley with the altitude — the Hunza cherry blossom tour is timed to it.
- Summer, June to August. Every pass and plateau is open, Deosai included, and it is the season for the longer routes such as the Gilgit-Baltistan tour and the Northern Pakistan grand tour.
- Autumn, late September to early November. The poplars turn gold, peaking around Karimabad over the last ten days of October — the Hunza autumn tour is built around it.
- Winter, November to March. The mountains close, and the Mughal cities and Gandhara sites of the plains are at their best — see Lahore, Punjab & Gandhara.

By length
A week is enough for one valley: the 7-day Hunza Valley tour flies to Gilgit to make the most of it, and the Kalash Valley tour does the same for Chitral. Ten to twelve days covers two — Hunza and Skardu, or Skardu and Baltistan properly. Two weeks or more lets you join the valleys up by road, or run from the Karakoram to the Arabian Sea on the complete Pakistan tour.
By budget
Price follows the route more than the length. A trip that flies to Gilgit or Skardu costs more per day than one driving the Karakoram Highway both ways, which is why a 10-day drive can cost less than a 7-day trip that flies. Nothing is added once you arrive; lunches and dinners are left off so you can eat where you like.
